Cancer Research

Subject area description
The overall objective is to characterize the role of uveal melanoma derived EVs in the development of pre-metastatic niches in the liver, and more specifically we aim to describe to which cell types EVs home, the functional and structural changes in the liver with a focus on epithelial to mesenchymal transition, to describe the change in transcriptomic profile induced by EVs and finally to specifically analyse how BAP-1 mutation affect this behaviour.

The job will involve research on exosomes in vitro and in vivo. The work includes planning and implementation of studies as well as advanced methods for isolation and characterization of exosomes. This includes ultracentrifugation, electron microscopy, and histological and molecular biological methods. Work on cell culture and mouse models is also included. The work will mainly be carried out at the Sahlgrenska Center for Cancer Research.
