The tasks include Asthma and allergy research, teaching at undergraduate, advanced and doctorate level. Participating in Krefting Research Centre steering committee and as a team leader for a research group.
The qualifications for academic positions are given in Chapter 4, Section 3 - 4 of the Higher Education Ordinance.
Qualified to employment is someone with a PhD and shown pedagogical skills.

Highest priority will be given to proven scientific skills in asthma and allergy research. It is followed by, in this order: pedagogical skills, collaborative ability and administrative skills.
Experience to obtain condiderable research funding in national and international competition, documented collaboration with pharmaceutical industry, outstanding scientific activities and publications in leading journals are of special merits. Condiderable experience of translational asthma and allergy research is also of special merit.
The successful applicant may also be asked to complete an educational training program within the first year of employment.
Institute of Medicine is one of the largest institutes at the University of Gothenburg. Education and research on major diseases in society is conducted at the institute. Krefting Research Centre (within the Department of Internal Medicine and Nutrition, Institute of Medicine) conducts today advanced research on asthma and allergy covering from epidemiological and clinical research to research on mechanisms of importance about the onset and progression of diseases in an international research environment. Of about 25 coworkers, more than a half are PhD-students, post docs and young researchers, and generally more than a half are coming from other countries than Sweden, from Japan and China in the east to USA in the west. Several researchers at the center have leading positions at international research organizations.
