Linnaeus University is the result of a merger between Kalmar University and Växjö University. The research activities within the Department of Biology and Environmental Science include the areas of aquatic ecology, cell and organism biology, evolutionary biology, microbiology, environmental science and environmental engineering as well as zoonotic ecology.
Work descriptionYou will work in a research laboratory where the focus is on the ecological impact of bacteria and viruses in the Baltic Sea. In this project you will both work independently in the lab and in close collaboration with a post-doc. The laboratory tasks will include cultivation of bacteria and propagation of phages as well as transcriptomic experiments including RNA extractions of bacterial isolates using molecular biology kits.
QualificationsRequirements: We seek a candidate with a bachelor degree in biology, microbiology, molecular biology, biomedical analyst, or equivalent. You should have experience in general microbial and/or molecular laboratory work as well as fluent English skills.

Terms of employmentEmployment and scope: 100 % for 4 months, with possible continuation. The employment is scheduled to start 15th of October 2019.
