Duties:

You will develop a project with the aim to increase the knowledge on factors affecting the recruitment and lack of recovery of cod in the coastal zone and how this is related to the declining cod stocks of the Kattegat and the North Sea. Your work duties will to a large extent revolve around the planning, collection, analyses, and reporting of the effects of fishing and environmental forcing on cod populations. The position involves fieldwork and interactions with society and authorities.

Qualifications:

We are looking for a Postdoc with knowledge in population ecology and preferably a deeper understanding of recruitment dynamics and processes in harvested marine populations. You are required to hold a PhD in ecology or relevant related research area. Previous knowledge or experience with environmental effects on fish, marine ecology, population genetics or conservation biology will be favorably considered. You should have documented experience from leading projects. We are looking for someone with the experience in experimental design, data handling and biological statistics to resolve the research questions. In your tasks you will need to speak and write scientific English fluently. Knowledge of Swedish is not essential but will be favorably considered.

You should be able to quickly understand new research questions, identifying the key issues and make situational judgements on how to proceed. You will be part of a group of researchers and environmental analysts so we need you able to work in a group as well as independently. The position involves fieldwork and interactions with society and authorities. We put great emphasis on your personal qualities and work experience.

As postdoctoral appointments are career-developing positions for junior researchers, we are primarily looking for candidates with a doctoral degree that is three years old at most.
