We are now searching for a postdoctoral fellowship in applied game technology in the healthcare domain.
Project description
This multidisciplinary project will be done in collaboration with researchers both within and outside the research group, as well as with several different external partners. The project aimed to develop, and research personalized virtual reality, games, and gamification interventions for addressing mental health among young women. Through a randomized controlled trial and sensor data, the researchers will use VR-based cognitive behavioral therapy (VR-CBT) design together with physiological sensor data, and gamification to address anxiety and nervousness in young women. The project aims to promote sustainable change using VR-based therapy through the involvement of young women and an in-depth collaboration between various actors, such as the public health sector and academia.
The postdoc fellowship is funded by the Kempe Foundations and the project will be conducted in close collaboration with scientists specialized in computer games and interactive systems and psychology at Luleå University of Technology.
The postdoctoral scholar will be actively involved in the ideation, design, and implementation of virtual reality games and gamification for addressing mental health issues. Besides, a postdoctoral scholar is expected to perform research and education to prepare for future academic positions.
